I got a random e-mail (which makes me suspicious) about this site selling OEM software. The prices are **** cheap and I’m tempted to spend $50 to see if this site is for real. You guys think this site is bogus or what?

Nope.
They might give you a working copy of the application but its not “legal”
Otherwise you would be able to walk into CompUSA and pick up PhotoShop or XP Professional for $50
I would advise against it bro.
Although it looks like they did put some effort into thier site. It does look professional.
And that’s how they get many people… anyway I agree with fester, if it sounds too good to be true…
All the software is OEM- Meaning that you don’t get the box and the manual with your software. All you will receive is the actual software and your unique registration code.
So you dont get a manual, yeah it may be illegal working copies with cracks, I dunno I agree the site looks professional but its still kinda weird.
Yea after looking through the site more I found no links to contact them or get in touch in any way. Thats a bit unsettling and I’m guessing the serial keys you get from them are bunk somehow
look at the FAQ… they say you get the cd and serial in an envelope and then they say note, you can not register or get technical support on this software. That would screw you on some programs.
Thats funny, I almost bought XP professional from those guys as well. Instead I changed my mind and found this site, http://www.pricegrabber.com/.
I bought mine (OEM) from a russian guy who has a listing here for 70.00. It was XP Professional. Turned out the guy was legit and the software works great.
My brother got Photoshop CS from a similar site. Long story short, he charged it to his credit card (so he could have the CC company fight the return) and when he got the product he called Adobe to make sure the registration/license code was legit and they told him it was fine. He’s been using it for about 4 months now with no problems, registered online and has even called customer support for various things.
I think those places are a scam waiting to happen but if you don’t mind possibly losing $50 and don’t have a way to get the software by regular means then go for it. I’m glad I decided to go back to school and take a couple classes, this way I get more education (sic) AND the educational discount (woohoo).
hmmm…might make you more suspicous but I can’t get on the site now
just get a timeout message
Yea, link doesn’t work for me.
…does for me.
doesnt work for me.
p.s. … my cat is literally sitting on top of my keyboard right now.
