Top Minimalistik Sites

I’ve seen a site like this earlier, it was basicaly a top 100 for simple non-flash sites. But I can’t find it anymore, does anyone know something like it?

Hehehe I thought you were talking about the user Minimalistik here, and sites he made.

I have seen that site though…

lol, yeh its spelt “minimalistic” which is the correct spelling. Anyway, RB, have you checked my thread in Kool Sites? Maybe it might be there.

plenty of minimal sites here

http://textbased.com/~minimalist/

 What an absolutely terrible site.

There’s clean designs and then there’s that list of sites that lack imagination and creativity altogether. I mean seriously, check out www.mimiml.com

I can’t believe anyone would create a site encouraging this crap.

I dont think you have to judge all those sites you dislike as crap. Every site on the webpage has the potential to better. And in my view, who wouldnt want to create a website encouraging minimalism? If you look closely CC, there are sites that I am familiar with as well as you. Such as eg’s on the site were: http://www.schmidtfoto.de/ , http://www.superfamous.com/ , www.newstoday.com , www.zeldman.com of which is by Jeffery Zeldman, http://www.mattgrey.com, http://www.matscordt.com/ , http://www.shift-media.com/main.htm

 Minimalistik

I just did a random click through of 20 sites listed on that page and 13 of those 20 can justifiably be called crap. Also, I realize now that I’ve opened a can of worms, although I’m not going to pick apart every site I don’t like on that list. What I found most amusing of some of these mimilistic sites is how hard it was to navigate.

It’s www.miniml.com

Why do you keep saying “mimilistic” and such? [/ot]

No, its www.mimiml.com. They’re two different sites. CC was not talking about Craig’s site. CC, why are you laughing anyway? Im certainly not laughing. Ive seen more crap ones than that but I dont see how its better for those guys who design them to laugh at their sites.

Who’s Craig? :h:

I just though so because www.mimiml.com seems to be offline right now then.

Craig Kroeger, author of Miniml and creator of those pixel fonts we all use such as Kroeger_053.

Ow, anderr, your Inbox is full

Ohh yeh, I was going to help you out with that tables issue ay? PM now

I’m laughing because I can’t even fathom what reasoning goes behind creating sites like some of the ones listed on that site there.

okay, I’m going to make a super minimalistic site and utilize the power of negative space. I’m going to make this super minimalistic site have soo much negative space that my users won’t be at all excited or interested in the information I’m presenting.

I want it to be so minimalistic that I’m going to make the fonts super small and not have any pictures at all. Pictures are pointless because everyone who visits my site is going to read every single word and link on my site. I think the old adage ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’ is true however a thousand words is way too confusing for the morons that will be visiting my site so instead I’m going to animate a bunch boxes and other geometric shapes.

Also, I think I would like my minimal site to look somewhat like an error page (at the very least I want it to look like the page is still loading or a work in progress). I mean, I think users will really appreciate the lack of effort on my part and will see my use of negative space as a positively boring presentation. [/s]

:stuck_out_tongue:

BTW when I use the word minimalistic I’m not talking about MINIMALISTIK the forum member.
