!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its taken me more time to get the code for my crappy sig than it did to make it! the url of the sig is http://www.error42.com/t.swf. im using im using the following code:

[swf="http://www.error42.com/t.swf height=69 width=300"][/swf]

well, it shows up as a white box… that means your path is wrong… double check that.

also, maximum height is 60 pixels…

Rev

what about the path is wrong? it doesnt make any sense that the url above it would be right and the actual code wouldn’t be…they’re the same!!!

move your " …

after the swf…before the size

Rev

what about it is wrong now?

take away the " after 300

Rev

then the first " has no closing " like now

[swf=“http://www.error42.com/t.swf” height=60 width=300][/swf]

Rev

didnt work

nice sig by the way

okay, here is mine:

[swf="http://www.aulman.com/footer.swf height=60 width=300"][/swf]

does your isp allow remote linking?

I know the path is right, I have checked it…

other than that, I don’t know…

Rev

that is so weird… you insert my file in place of yours and it works…

if you put your url in the address bar, it works…

Rev

wow that is weird.

yeah, huh?

Rev

It is because his URL is a stealth redirect URL. And not a very pleasant one at that :-\

[edit]didn’t work[/edit]
Quote the post to see the real URL.

Hrmm, still doesn’t work!

OHHHHHHHH, being the URL contains a fowl word the board asterisks that out, which screws up the URL.

the board doesn’t like chicken?

Rev

http://home.cfl.rr.com/f u c k/t.swf <-- real pleasant :-\ (ixne the spaces)

oh, just you said fowl… as in chicken, poultry… not foul…

:beam:

how did you get the correct url?

Rev

Edit/View Source. You can see the frame layout. And the source link to the frame.

Steal redirects throw your page into a giant frame basically, that way the URL stays at the top, and no one knows the real URL. That is what my site works off of. You can have it parse the URLS to include subdirectories. And this works when put in the address bar, but this does not work when hotlinking files because when put into the address bar it can redirect into a frame, but it can’t do that when hotlinking a file.

And fowl, foul… same diff :-\ :stuck_out_tongue: Sorry.
