I’m trying to create a torchlight effect with a blurred edge. I have followed the Blurred Edge Mask tutorial by Jason Mayo aka jmayo86 which can be found here http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/masks2.htm. I am able to create this effect separately but am unable to incorporate it my torchlight effect fla.
I tried to attach the .fla files (but they are too large in size so I have provided links below where you can downlown) before I tried the blur effect and after I tried it. I think I know what the problem is. What I set up was a piece of action script that allowed me to move the circle (torch light) around an image, the circle however needs to be a movie clip. Inside this movie clip I attempted the blur effect.
But when I ran the file, It became apparent that the circle (movie clip) is moving but the blur effect is staying in the same position. I assumed that by simply putting it inside the movieclip it would follow the mouse in the same way.
