Tripod bandwidth

i am having trouple with tripod. i uploaded my flash site and i went to it once and it got shut down for 2 hours

where can i get a better host that allows more people to view my site before it gets shut down?

Depends if you’re looking for free or for fee.
Hey wow, that rhymes.

I got caught up in how that rhymed and forgot to say that it also depends on how big the thing is.

Tripod is free, I’m pretty sure, and you can only have so much data transfer per… well, 2 hours, apparently. Maybe you could try one of those other ones… geocities.com or something, or that freewebhosting.com, < I’m not sure whether it is still around.
I used to use it. I think… a long time back

i am not sure if i got to another host, will it happen again?

although, i do have a music player that has 3 songs in it. on an average 3 min long? could that be the problem?

I’m not too good on estimations, so I’ll say maybe, lots of sites use little loops that sound real nice instead of putting big songs.
(Check out electrogeeks site, it’s got a looped tune, if you listen you can hear it, if you don’t really, it sounds seamless… since that’s the point. :D)
they take up far less space, anyways.

i am not sure on how to add a sound loop to my site?
i am thinking about getting my own web domain from bravenet.com. its cheap in price but there they dont shut down your site for Daily Bandwidth Limit.

That’d probably be best.

Uhm, you can mix your own loops if you get your hands on some software, or you could take one from someone who gives you permission, or you could buy one. I think it’s at mediahead.com or something that the best mixes are. Prices seem a bit steep to me, but then I’m not in the Flash World for business. When (IF) I ever need my site to have sweet sound, maybe I’ll fork over the cash.

Thanks for the chat.

thanks for the helpful info:)

By the by : It is mediahead.com
I suggest you go listen to them just for listenings sake.
They’re pretty cool. (and again WOOWEE expensive.)

Well Tripod allows a 1GB daily bandwidth.

But loading full length .mp3s will eat up that bandwidth like a cookie monster would a chocolate chip cookie.

When you log into tripod you will see an option in their menu that says My Account, when you rollover it a menu drops down and you can click on WebSite Details and that tells gives you the information on how much disk space and bandwidth you are currently using.
