From our Colonel:
We have received several questions from many of you regarding the status of the Ohio Highway Patrol Troopers that were shown being struck by a car in a short video clip that we sent out on March 19th.
The crash occurred in Mansfield, Ohio and involved Trooper Christopher Wood, who at the time, was assigned to the Mansfield Post, and Trooper Charles Farley, who was assigned to the Bucyrus District as a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector. Trooper Farley was investigating a crash on northbound Interstate 71, near milepost 166, when a passing vehicle struck Trooper Wood standing on the side of Interstate 71 and struck the rear of Trooper Farley’s cruiser, with him inside. Both troopers recovered from their injuries and have returned to full duty. Trooper Wood suffered the most serious injuries. He has since been promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is currently assigned to our New Philadelphia Post. Trooper Farley still serves in the Bucyrus District.
