I really hope someone can help me out here.I am building an online portfolio. The initial page contains 6 pictures loaded using xml. When a picture is clicked on the other 5 fade out and the selected picture moves to the left.
Once this is complete there is a text box which loads text form an xml file about the picture and an empty movie clip which loads a jpeg viewer.swf from the xml file.When the user clicks on the originally selected picture the text and jpeg viewer fade out and the other 5 pictures fade back in. This all works fine.
However, I am now trying to add a hyper link to one of the pages. At first I created a external button.swf (on (release) etc) and loaded it in using the xml into another empty movie clip. I have also tried using an external movie clip.swf into an empty movie clip.
The problem I am having is that I can get the link to appear and disappear, but if the link is clicked on and opens the web page in a browser, that particular link appears no matter which picture was selected.
I hope this makes sense and someone can shed some light on the situation.
