Trouble with importing MP3s into flash

Hi. I’m making a presentation flash movie with voice playback. I’m using the free sound recorder “audacity”. The problem I’m having is that Flash refuses to import some of the sounds that I export from audacity. I get a “Flash does not recognize the file format of “blah.mp3” would you like to try to import it with Quicktime”

It didn’t do this just yesterday…the only think I can think of is that I messed with the settings in audacity, of which there are a lot.

Could someone tell me exacly what flash is looking for in an mp3? mhz and bitrates and what not? Does anyone know of a utility that will strip away all but the essentials from an mp3?

Thanks,

pseudo

You might check to make sure the quality setting of the MP3 is at or below 160kbps:

If that doesn’t work you might check the MP3 settings trying some different things. For example, that it is 16bit sound, not 8bit.

try just havin AS load the file instead of importing it to flash. that way you wouldnt lose quality as well
