Tryin to format my hard drive

Helloooo. I’m about to install xp pro. Im currently running xp home. I want to completely wipe everything from c: and then install xp pro. So, I put in the cd, answer its questions choose c:, and it says that it doesnt recommend installing 2 os’s on one partition. Obviously… Would that wipe c: or just reinstall the os? It sounded like it was gonna wipe it up until that point. Last time i did it i did it in dos though format c: or summat. Or was that before i had xp I cant remember… thanks for any advice…
