Two questions: Can you import FLA layers into new FLA? And

Before I embark on re-doing a massive workload, I was hoping for enlightenment from someone on the forum! I can’t find this anyone else online…

Instead of re-doing all my jpgs and tweens-- is it possible to export that FLA layer where they appear into a new FLA file? Thus far, I haven’t been able to copy-paste or anything like that.

-OR-

Is is possible to adjust the Flash stage’s x,y coordinates? My numerous jpgs + tweens are about 50 pixels too far left, and it’ll take hours to manually to readjust all of them individually. If I could just move the STAGE 50 pixels to the left, that’d fix everything for now…

Any ideas?

In the layer that you want to copy click on the first frame in the layer and - while holding your mouse down - highlight all the frames in the layer.

With the frames all highlighted, right click and go down to the Copy Frames option.

Go to your new fla and in the first frame of the layer you want your info on right click and go to the Paste Frames option. Not only will it paste all the frames, but it will also put in whatever name you gave the layer in your original fla.

If your original fla has multiple layers, click on the the first frame of the top layer. Holding the mouse down, move it all the way downward to the right…highlighting all the layers and all the frames.

Do the same as above. Right click and go to Copy Frames option.

In your new fla you don’t even have to then create all the layers before you paste the frames in. When you paste, Flash will create all the layers (with their layer names).

WONDERFUL-- THANK YOU!

I was simply using the “copy” function, which obviously doesn’t work.

This is going to come in handy-- thanks again.

It’s not possible to adjust the stage coords but you can edit multiple frames. Just click the button at the bottom of the Timeline window (fourth box along that looks like two dark squares), then drag the onion skin markers that will appear along the top of the Timeline window so they cover all of the frames with elements you want to move. Finally click on Edit, Select All and move the elements to the new location on the stage.

Check the Help Files for “Moving an entire animation”

You’re welcome.
