Unload a movie

I try to stop a Symbol on my scene 1(movie clip), but I cannot, stop(); don’t work. How Would I get it off my screen?

give the symbol it’s own layer. Just create a new blank layer, select the symbol, and copy cut, paste in place the symbol into the new layer. Select the frame where you want the symbol to disapear and hit F7 to insert a blank keyframe.
