basically I am using flash to display XML data locally on a computer, is it possible for Flash to replace that XML file stored on my computer with another one from the internet when the user clicks on an Update button for example?

interesting - I think you’d have to have flash execute some external script, or look into flashes new file/browse classes and see if it allows you to download as well as overwrite and existing local file - or you can look into http://www.screentime.com/software/mprojector/ I’ve been very happy using this softwares - it gives you a ton of system functionalities, saving files, net connections etc.
thanks for the tip, but will I have to redo my flash program in order to integrate it within this software because I have quite alot of work in my current flash file
