So, I’ve been working on a new site for myself. I have a really big PNG (almost 3000x3000) that will be rotating, along with multiple animations on top of it. The image will be almost 3,000px by 3,000px - Should I use a PNG like I normally would, or, because of how big it will be, should I use an FLV for the rotating animations?
Here is an example of what I will be doing:
The grass hill will be a big sphere that will rotate, the “subver” logo will be an FLV, and there will be multiple animations on top of the grass (the sunflowers will be animated, and there will be a bunch of animated characters moving about). The clouds will be moving (probably PNGs… but they may be animated themselves, too… [PNG sequence?])
Which would be better, taking into account load time and smoothness of it’s play?
Any tips would be great.
