Using the keypad to move objects

Hey Guys…

I want to know how i can use the keypad (up,down,left,right) to move objects…

I know that when hte left button is pressed u just tell it to this.object._x += 1… .and so on, but i dont know the syntax to check if it has been pressed… u get my drift ???

well i want to be able to press the right left up down keys and in respect go the way its been asked ???

I know its not hard for intermediate to experienced users…

yea, i downloaded it… when i press up it will go up, down it goes down, right it goes right, left it goes left…

mind you watch that tho bcos it moves very slightly so you might not be noticing it…

HipHop what are you talking about it moves ‘slighty’ ?? It doesnt move at all.

Fadi, you were on the right lines so well done for that.

There a many ways of doing what you want. But there is one very simple way. Check the modified fla i’ve attached and check the actions for the movie clip ‘circle’.

Thanks Viru for your help, I havent had the chance to see the modification u have made, because i found a tutorial that showed me how to do it… Its very easy in fact!!

But i am going to check yours out, because u mite have done it a different way, and it is good to be able to do the same thing in more then one way, Any way i should get back to work!!
