Hi all,
I have found numerous posts regarding the microphone and recording sound from it. I have seen people try to create an empty movie clip and record sound to it as well as use the soundmixer. I have also read somewhere that it may be possible in a new version of flash to record audio from the microphone, but not yet is AS 3.0.
Does anyone know for sure about these things if there are any hacks or workarounds? I think it would be neat to record sound, but don’t necessarily want to have another server just to save the file.
I tried looping the sound through the speakers to see if it would go through the SoundMixer and I had no luck trying to record a byteArray.
I was wondering if it would be possible to write a flash class that acts as a pseudo FMS and will record the stream to some file on the user’s computer. I guess for that to work, you would need to create a local server.
Any ideas?
