ok umm i was going to try that new tutorial with sql and reading data from it, but i have IIS on my system. i wanted to try to use Apache since it comes with WAMP… if i install WAMP will apache and IIS have problems with eachother? or is the localhost folder in a different place with apache? and if so, where is it because i cant find it if it is in a different place… also, that tutorial doesnt really say how to use apacher or if you even have to use it… or what… can someone explain that to me please? what i think is its just always running or whatever but im not sure… im just sort of confused about how it works… if anyone can help thanks
Basically, if you use IIS and Apache at the same time, they will cause a conflict. I’m not sure exactly about how to use IIS, but somewhere there should be a shortcut to “Stop IIS” or something along those lines.
You don’t have to use apache. Infact, in your case, I would say IIS was better. However, I (and many others I presume) have Windows XP home, so we can’t use IIS.
I found two tutorials(The second one is in Powerpoint format. Run them in order).
When you install Apache, IIS will automatically be turned off, or at least that’s what happened the last time i installed apache. If not, go to start > programs > administrative tools > Internet Information System > select www server and click the stop sign at the top…
