Value's worth more than 1

Well, my hit test works fine, i can roll over the item on the screen and it adds to the value i already have of that item. My question is if i want to make that item worth more than 1 how would i do that? In this case, the item is coins in the game, i want to pass over some coins and have them worth 5 instead of 1.
