Don’t know where to ask this so I thought I would try here. I think I have a virus… Not sure which one it is and I don’t know how to look it up… Any advice would be greatly appreciated… Here are the symptoms:
With Internet Explorer 6, when I go to google.com to run a search, I’ll get the search results but when I click on the link, it actually takes me to a site that is not the site I clicked on search results page… So I hit back, click the link again, it takes me to another site, again not the site I should be hitting and only when I hit back and click the link for a third time it takes me to the correct site.
Another reason I know something is up is because if I type a URL in IE that doesn’t exist, something like www.018923.com it takes me to a site with tones of links, sometimes **** sometimes other sites.
I recently switched to Firefox and the google problem doesn’t happen with that browser but the incorrect URL problem does occur.
I checked the url www.018923.com on a buddy’s laptop and got the traditional “page not found” error…
Does this sound familiar? I’d love some help if you could!!
