Overall Description:
Responsible for the development and delivery of custom WBT programs in support of client business objectives and ongoing operations. This includes working in/with various software programs/languages/LMS/LCMS to meet clients’ needs and limitations. Individual will work closely with instructional designers, graphic artists, audio engineers, quality assurance, and project management teams.

The WBT Production Manager is responsible for keeping projects on track and meeting all deadlines; communicating with each team/team member (ID, graphics, audio, QA, and PM) to resolve issues and fulfill needs; identifying and communicating potential risks and deadline slippage to the project manager; and requesting additional resources as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Participate in the development and implementation of policies, standards, documentation and processes to ensure final product meets Company’s standards of excellence and consistency in terms of instructional design integrity and client expectations.

• Develop and maintain processes to support the management of your technical team and their development efforts – to include the flow and version control of deliverables through the production life cycle.

• Recruit, train, and manage a team of internal and subcontractor developers to which you can reliably delegate technical WBT development tasks when workload requires you to focus on your Production Manager role (Note: This is most critical duty you will perform).

• Support the sales process by providing technical expertise and input during client scoping and sales discussions.

• Organize and incorporate various information, materials, graphics, audio and interactivity into the WBT program, to accomplish client’s business objectives for the training.

• Demonstrate creativity, skill and experience in multimedia design and production in order to create instructional materials to meet client expectations and goals and objectives.

• Collaborate with ID, graphic artist(s), audio engineer, QA and PM to ensure final product meets Company’s standards of excellence.

Reports to: Director of Operations
Classification: Fulltime Exempt

• Gather all information and content objects necessary for completing the WBT program.

• Design and develop WBT from various types of storyboards.
• Incorporate developed job aids, as required.

• Design and develop WBT assessments, as required.

• Incorporate developed policies and procedures, as required.

• Incorporate developed new materials as needed to meet client objectives.

• Review, test and finalize WBT program.

• Create and maintain tracking systems to ensure compliance with project parameters for time keeping and costs.

• Collaborate with project manager and client to proactively resolve any deviations from project parameters.

• Collaborate with project manager, client, and client’s IT department to ensure final product runs on client LMS/LCMS, other internal network, or CD as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Characteristics Required

Ability to:

• Manage a small team of skilled professionals.

• Seamlessly move between a WBT Lead developer role (when workloads are small) to a management role (managing up to twelve project production efforts at once) when workloads are heavy.

• Patiently explain technical topics and situations to non-technical internal staff and clients. Provide technical knowledge transfer to the Instructional Designers so that they can more efficiently write WBT storyboards that are technically sound. Encourage the Instructional Designers to provide knowledge transfer to the developers so that what the developers create is more instructionally sound. Encourage the two teams to work closely together.

• The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing Section 508 and Accessible e-learning and/or Web sites.

• Independently make decisions regarding both short-term and long-term projects.

• Exercise independent discretion and judgment.

• Analyze and evaluate facts and evidence to formulate sound conclusions.

• Effectively organize own schedule to ensure timely completion of all projects within the scheduled timeframes.

• Make decisions and exhibit initiative to ensure success of Company.

• Accurately and succinctly communicate with other team members, client representatives and managers both in writing and orally.

• Proficiency with Adobe Flash (Animation and AS 2.0), Captivate, Lectora, Photoshop, HTML, JavaScript, and other authoring tools as needed.

• Experience creating and testing SCORM packages (1.2 and 2004) on various LMS.[/FONT]
