I am interested in using a webcam to detect not just motion but the amount of motion - i.e using it to determine just how many people walk past a webcam. I have used flash with php and mysql and have a strong founding in actionscript but nothing to do with the webcams or the new flash 8 actionscript that you can use for webcams.
I have seen a few tutorials on the new features of using webcams but nothing that can explain the basics.
I just wandered if anyone could either help me out with coding something simple that detects the amount of motion or could put me in the right direction for finding information on flash 8s new webcam capabilities.
