Weird problem

Well i have a weird cookie problem i guess…

little info about my system :windows 2000 professional and internet explorer 6.0

yesterday i manually deleted my temporary internet files, then cleard the history, cookies and cleared forms and passwords.

**I restarted my system, opened internet explorer, typed www.kirupaforum.com
and i got my style setting (blue steel by E.geek), then i got a msg notification about a private message.(wich by the way comes everytime and show no msg in my inbox) and this theme goes off when i click on any section (random, battle and stuff) and my cookie never gets activate, untill and unless i post a reply, **normal login helps me just to see my CP and when i want to reply to any post, i have to click on post reply and then again i have to sign in and finally when i see my answer posted there,it shows me online.Everything was working fine wid explorer 5.5.

Any suggestions ?

always knew i have no frnds here to help out :frowning:

Hmm, go to Tools | Internet Options. Click the Security tab and then press the Custom Level button. Make sure you have Cookies enabled.

That may fix it

I have tried that already but nothing seem to work, i uninstalled version 6 and i have same problem on version 5.This is so strange.

Have you tried SpyBot? That’ll rip out cookies that are embedded deep into your system. Just a guess.

What browser are you using? Can’t be IE because with IE you can’t roll the browser back.

Man, tht’s wat i think it is…i need a good Spybot, i have no idea where i can get it.Can u gimme the link plz?
i noticed soemthing strange, wenever i type kirupaforum.com and not www.kirupaforum.com… it takes me to http://df809jow4wj2304lfd0sf9fsd0a2t4ldf809jow4wj2304lfd0sf9fsd0a2t4ld.biz/index.html page, wich is a p0rn site, i have had fw guests all thru this week, i think they must have visited any of that crap. But imade them another user, strange… i think u ve got it right Freddythunder.

DigitalPimp, we can rollback to previous version if we dont try to repair the version, try this…
as u get version 5 wid windows 2000, install version 6 or 5.5 and after u restart, go to add remove programmes and try to uninstall that new version… u ll get a msg box wid 3 radio button…one of them is restore to previous version.

This program is mostly for removing ad cookies in code, but when I used it (it gives you the options on what you want ripped out) it listed crap I never even knew was on my computer.

This link also has a bunch of related software on the same page avail for download. I hope it helps ya!!

BTW - How did you do that rollOver effect on your footer; is it a mc prototype, or a bunch of buttons? I can’t figure it out!! It’s really cool!!

1 more BTW - To find Spybot stuff, just put in ‘spybot’ in Google, you’ll get tons of stuff!!:beam:

Talking about ‘Spy’. Removing Spyware from your system doesn’t hurt, and, it improves your internet connection speed, too =) Use Ad-Aware to remove all spyware from your system. It can be downloaded here.

well both of them were broken links here :frowning:

anyway guys, new is that i still have the same problem on kirupaforum.com, it still shows me a pvt msg notification and nothing has changed asfar as kirupaforum page is concerned and guess wat? ** i formatted my computer today, re-installed window and it’s a clean, all new setup and still i have the same problem **:frowning:
i think its kirpa forum problem that i get the same page on all the computers i logd off and on from, help please.

strange problem you have there jaz! I know it sounds daft, but have you tried chaniging your username? Or even creating a new account! My friend had this problem on the rahindeed forum, but when he changed his name it was ok.

yah, how DO you change your username?

You can ask a mod nicely to change it for you. There is no way to do it yourself that I am aware of.

Cheers!
