I just noticed a key on my keyboard labelled “Scroll Lock”… I’ve been sitting with this keyboard for aaages, and I have NEVER noticed that key…
it’s right between Print screen and Pause/Break…
what the hell does Pause/Break do…

Pause and Break I’m pretty sure that they are more geared towards a non-windows environment. I remember when I was using DOS and I would run commands to scroll lines I’d use pause to pause the scrolling (before i learned about /p), and enter to continue it. Actually when I used to play DOOM and Wolfenstein it even paused the game!
Ohh yes, the days of Duke Nukem…
edit: I kept stuffing up the game because I used the clip cheat to get through the bars.
Hmmz… You noticed that button now? I’ve seen it everyday ive used an computer (since a couple of years back). Never had any use for it as ^Never had dos (or should i be happy 'bout it? :P)
I don’t really see the point of it tho, noones gonna need a Scroll Lock, or even a Pause Button, what’s the point of building it into every single keyboard for such a small amount of people…
The pause button also pauses the game in Max Payne.
I just recently found out what Prt Scrn is used for and how
If you’re coding in C/C++ and your code’s integrity fails and it moves into an infinte loop, Ctrl+Break saves the day! :thumb:
And scroll lock is useful when you’re using the numeric pad in place of your mouse
Yep, becuase those stinking batteries on your wireless mouse always die when you need it most…
i’ve always used control+c for breaks…
while we are at it whats Sys Rq for?
its on my keyboard(EMachines KB-9908) under print screen
