In “Boyz in the Hood” when Morpheus…I mean Laurence Fishburne is in the car with Trey (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and he turns up the music.

The Lyrics go something like “Oooh ooh child, things are going to get better (easier)…”

The guy at the music store just looked at me weird and I’ve searched around on the net for the title and artist with no luck.

All I get when I search the lyrics is the version JOE did for his last album.
