What is the proper way of showcasing a variety of .swfs

from an HTML file?

My original idea: I could upload a .swf to my portfolio website and then create a regular HTML link from my webpage, but then it takes the viewer to a new, large window with the flash.swf and that looks dated & tacky.

Should I arrange a row or column of thumbnails where the user clicks on a thumbnail and a pop-up window appears for each swf? Or is there a way to create a cleaner version of a pop-up window, similar to how you can view static images with a Javascript Lightbox?

Further, I do not have the original .fla files to manipulate some of my movies.

Thanks for your advice
