Where should i put actionscript

ok i started making a game but im still kinda new to the whole action script. i want to add things like a health bar, enemies, and possibly items u can pick up. i have movement down, and i have programmed in c++, but where do u recommend i put various scripts? like health bar in frame 1? or should i have all code on 1 item?
