I’ve been searching Kirupa’s forums for a day and a half and have gotten some answers, but could use more help.
I currently have a site started that uses Lostinbeta’s Preloader - works beautifully (despite the fact that I use 2 scenes - one for the preloader and the other for the rest of the movie). However, when it’s online, there’s a white screen in place of the SWF for about a second, then the preloader comes in at around 20%. The late start doesn’t bother me much, just the white screen. I have yet to find a definitive answer.
Now, I’ve also read that using scenes isn’t a good idea (though I have yet to understand why), so I have the same site broken up in two files - a preloader and the main movie. This will actually come handy since I plan on using clean transitions between sections (thanks to another lostinbeta tutorial!). However, when I test the movie both in Flash and online, the preloader works (really fast) but then the external movie just sits there - doesn’t automatically start though it loads properly. (I’m using the loadMovieNum command.) I’ve tried a few things but to no avail. This is more crucial than that stupid white screen (though that is really bothersome).
Any ideas, help, point (or shove whichever you prefer) in the right direction would be great.
