with an IT report?

I’m kind of stuck at the moment. The whole question for the assignment is:

“The internet has grown and continues to grow at a furious pace. What measures may be used to gauge the size of the internet? How does the growth of the internet within Australia compare with other countries? Discuss some of the technical and social challenges that lay ahead of this new technology.”

I’m having problems with the “What measures may be used to gauge the size of the internet?” So far I have written:

Measuring the exact size of the Internet is too difficult to determine since it is growing at an enormous rate. At the end of 2002, Nielsen/Netratings predicted/stated (not sure what word to use here, ill fix it later) that there were 580 million users around the globe (insert reference here). The Computer Industry Almanac estimates that the overall population for 2004 will be 945 million users (need another reference here?)! Obviously the Internet…

here comes the problem, im not sure how to continue it. my brain is dead tired :sleep:

any suggestions are greatly appreciated :beam:

i do understand if no one can be bothered though

sorry for drawing anyone into the thread due to the “Who wants to help me…” i didnt mean to do that on purpose. you probably all think it is about Flash when u see the subject…anyhooo

…cannot be measured in terms of numbers since it’s a proliferating web (world-wide) that uses servers, sometimes home-based, to grow larger everyday…

Besides, internet is much more than web pages, indeed, it is use as a mean of efficient and rapid communications, and thre are people who do not browse but use for instance email with mobile phones…

etc… aah comon’ this is an easy topic… i wish i had that instead of: ‘Show the effect of the 17th century use of preciosity compared to the ‘follyness’ of the later centuries’

wow your topic is a hell of a lot harder than mine…is that for history?

ive just been busy studying for a recent maths exam that i think i did fairly poor in so my brain isnt up to its usual “writing awesome reports about the Internet” standards… :sure:

no actually it’s french, we have to study litterature im still in hischool… that sucks? I wish I could do some reports on the internet…

French literature…interesting…thats a pretty hard topic for a high school student…

I’m in my first year at university and i don’t even know the meanings of: preciosity and follyness
