Why do alpha tweens move smoother in Flashplayer than browser

I just noticed the oddest thing.

when i play a flashanim in flashplayer (a tween setting something from 100 - 0 % alpha) it runs all smooth.

but when I play it in the f12 browser preview, it runs noticeably less smooth.

is this normal and why?

thanks

anim written in flash5

player 5

browser Mx plugin

so…

that’s strange, mine goes choppy in the player then smooth in the browser…

Flash MX, flashplayer 6, ie 5.5

guess it’s all about the power of your processor.

Yeah processor power is it I believe.

Just like a movie runs slower when you have to download it to your cache first rather than run it straight off your system from the file.

and you have to think that in the browser its running through an embedded pluggin. As a standalone, its being played in an application specifically designed to play flash movies. (of course hardware accelerated projectors are a nice thing too)

heres something to check out also

and

would there be some alternative which would run smoother in both player and browser?

Thanks for explaining that guys

Yesterday I was trying to get text to go with a sound file - well they were both the exact same length in frames but the sound was done waybefore the text was. But only in a browser. In the flash player it was perfect. On a 380 frame soundclip I had to make the text a 300 frame animation

weird…

use streaming sound for sync (streamed in the on the stage sense)
