Why downloading music just doesn't work (for me.. and in the long run...)

Okay, this is my second time trying to put to words what I want to say. Here we go!
I, personally, find that if I am going to hear new music, it isn’t from the radio, and especially not from MTV. But why would I pay a dollar for a song I’ve never heard? It wouldn’t mae sense to me, I have no idea if I like the song yet, or maybe I’ve never even heard the band! So, what does p2p do, imo? It’s like word of mouth. If record companies saw this, and EMBRACED it, they would sell a lot more music; NOT CONDONING P2P as it is now, just saying if they changed their thinking, then they could boost sales, and look a little better in ublic eye. If I think a band has maybe three good songs, after all, I go pay 10-15 dollars for that bands music. IE jimmy eat world, heard about three songs, loved it, bought the cd, and then another later on.
Anyone agree? I jsut don’t think that people are really all about getting everything free; to me, it’s a matter of finding new music and deciding on if I wanna buy it. Like the radio but more specific, oh and with good music
