On job websites, property websites and pretty much any form containing a regional database, how does one work with these data sets?
Say for example, if a user creates a record and spells London “ldon” in error… this wont be good for the database as people will search for “london” most likely.
I know websites use some kind of a drop down list of firstly country, then region, then cities in that region? Well what service does this use? I dont really believe that someone sits down and adds all regions, cities and postcodes into a custom database but i dont know what to google for to find out how to do this.
Ideally i want to suggest in a tooltip as the user types, they type “Dun” and itll suggest Dunfermline, Dunfries, Duneld… so on.
Does anyone have a clue what i am talking about?
