XML Parsing using PHP (beginner) shows blank page?

I tried the Kirupa tutorial for simple parsing of xml with php, and it just shows a blank page.
I then downloaded the source files to make sure It wasnt me making a mistake and its also just showing a blank page…

any ideas?
