XML photo gallery and thumbnails

Hi,

I just completed the XML photo gallery tutorial, and it works great for me, but unfortunately it does not cover adding numbered thumbnails to the gallery (similar to how slideshow pro works). Im trying to add just that functionality without the image thumbnails, but more or less rounded buttons with the corresponding number in the center and on rollover has a state change. Does anyone know how to add this functionality so numbered buttons (with rollovers) can be in place of the thumbnails?

I’m trying to figure out something similar. Basically create thumbnails out of numbers dynamically. Has anyone done something like this?

While this is not quite what you are after, it uses a text based number pulled in from an XML file to reference a large image. The technique used should apply to what you are wanting to do.
