xml_slideshow w/streaming audio problem

I am attempting to create an image slideshow based on the tutorial at http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml_slideshow.htm. The slideshow itself works perfectly, even with the 100 or so images in the directory. However, I also need a 2.8 mb mp3 file to accompany the slideshow. Attempting to stream the audio alongside the slideshow causes the slideshow to pause, freeze and sometimes completely lockup. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this without needing to embed either the images or mp3 file directly in the Flash movie? I’d like this to be convenient for visitors even on dial-up to access without having to wait for an extended preload time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
