You Googled my name?! You Stalker!

Alright I need to give you guys a little back story before I ask my question so you can better understand what i will ask.

My Mate met this girl while he was out one night and they both were digging each other so they exchanged names and numbers at the end of the night.

I later talked with this same dude and he was going on about how cool this girl he met was and all that jazz, he then went on to say he wished he had a better pic than the photo he took from his phone (night club = bad phone photo). He got the idea to google her name, just to see if there is a better pic of her by fluke.

Sure enough when we googled her name not only did we find a picture but a listing of other sites where her name is, myspace, blogs, forums, miscellaneous forms she filled out etc… etc… And in a matter of seconds we not only had a better picture but her email, her number (although we already had it), suburb she lived in, where she worked, what school she use to go to, hobbies and so on and so on. :!: That’s just loco:crazy:

Now we thought it would be funny to play a joke on her and call up and mention these facts in some way part of a general conversation. Then i got to thinking, this is pretty much borderline stalking! :jail:

we weaked out and didn’t do it in the end, we did give her a call and mention we found a funny pic of her on google and she laughed and asked for the link, she’s cool like that, she actually even told us to visit her myspace page, lol

My question is "When does google searching become stalking? Is searching someone’s name stalking? Would i be stalking my brother/sister if i searched their name? or am I stalking my girlfriend if i searched her name?

Is it stalking or just a easier way to find out about someone using a popular resource in our digital age?"

ps: Personally i don’t have much information on the internet about myself and I find it quite scary that its so easy to find that much information on someone you don’t ‘really’ know, all you need is a computer and a internet connection.
