Edit: Sites made in 3D, not sites about 3D. The overall topic here is “kool” sites after all.
Hey,
I’m making like a small 3d engine, and I do have features planned out for it. I’m just not sure I have everything thought of before I dive right into this. So I was wondering if anybody has links to any kinda cool, creative, or interesting 3d sites with 3d interfaces, design, games, models, or the such they wouldn’t mind sharing. Of course I’m hoping to come up with more ideas too, but I pretty much have its initial use planned out.
I don’t plan on using ms3d or 3dsm models or anything. That’s not really the 3d I mean. I mean like your basic vector manipulation. So sites with cool monsters that look like the movies aren’t really relevent.
But that isn’t what I meant, I’m looking for sites that are made in 3d, and have 3d stuff on them, you know? Also, the 3d graphics at CGTalk are maya and 3dsm, which is not what I’m looking for. Just basic polygonal stuff, like the tutorial on 3d here on kirupa.
Most of the effects on that site are on this sites tutorial section.
First they have some simple animation, just draw. Then they tween the box edges inward, manual tween would be easier, but it could be programmed. Then they have the growing plant, you could use masks, or that Adobe program I forget. Then they have a few more detailed animations, just draw. Then they have a couple perspective changes on a box so it looks like its 3d, theres a tutorial on that here and you can do much more than look at it. Then they do some flashes of black/white… frame 1, white, frame 2, black, gotoFrame(1).
TokyoPlastic did their 3D with 3D Studio Max and exported in vector using the Swift3D plugin…not to be confused with the Swift3D stand-alone app but same renderer.
Wow, you are so wrong about that I don’t even know where to begin.
Other people have already posted this, but this site is some real sweet Swift 3D work. Swift 3D comes with AWESOME documentation, so if you read through it you are more than 1/2 way there.
