(i first had this thread in drawing and design. but i think it should be here, since this doesn’t have anything to do with drawing or design. it’s more like fixing a corrupted file… and i’ve deleted the thread from that sub-forum.)
the file i was working on suddenly got corrupted, because i moved the frame slider to some value… system restore doesn’t do anything to files. i downloaded another program that would take snapshots, but the corruption happened before i downloaded it so it was useless for what i want to do. everything inside should be fine, because i just moved the frame slider and dragged it onto the scene. anyone know how i can recover this file? thanks in advance.
guys guys guys, i solved the problem. THANKS SO MUCH GOD!!!
i merged the file. i clicked merge from file menu, and opened the corrupted file, the merge window listed all the objects in my file. there was only one object that was corrupted, so i selected everything else, and it came back up again. but from now on, i’m going to save two files, just in case this happens again.
ya3, 3ds max is awesome, well, atleast i love it.
oli-g, yes it does make a backup file whenever one saves the file… i just figured that out. oh well, i saved the new file, so it overwrote it. i wish i had checked it out beforehand.
Hahah, yeah, 3dsmax can pwn if it’s coupled with VRay, but otherwise I find it rather cumbersome to use. Like drawing with a giant crayon - not very intuitive.
