5 gigawatts of “additional capacity” is such a press-release number until you get to the unsexy parts: grid interconnect queues, substation upgrades, and where all that heat actually goes.

I don’t know if SoftBank has already locked down power purchase agreements for any of this, but that’s the part that tends to turn “we’ll build data centers” into “we’ll build some data centers, eventually.”

€75B for data centers is nuts, and I keep wondering how much of this AI “investment” wave is just people racing to lock down power + cooling before everyone else does. Concrete keyboard sounds like a meme but ngl I kinda want to try it just for the clack.
