The theme of my new Flash site project is to pretend that you are watching a video screen (of anything subtle, like an animation of text or pictures or landscape that fades in and out randomly, or quotes that fade in) and a semi-transparent interface appears above the screen, complete with it’s own shadow (which is necessary if I’m to establish that it is a 3D object).
-
How do you create that shadow effect for objects that are transparent or solid and use it successfully for Flash? For example, take a look at the right side of the Kirupa.com header. See how there’s a shadow?
I tried to do a shadow effect before, then imported it into Flash but the shadow made things look ugly. I saw the anti-aliased edges of the shadow. Is it something that I have to make within Flash itself? -
Does anyone know how to create a Flash animation in a way that gives it a
realistic “live broadcast video” look to it? Let’s say that you don’t have the bucks to shoot live film, but by using regular Flash objects and (maybe) photoshop, you could trick the user’s eye into thinking that it’s video footage and not regular animated vector shapes? -
Does anyone know who designs video-realistic Flash animations?

Does anyone know of Flash websites that have two different animations going on at once, the interface (when you click a certain button a sub menu fades in) and the background (a butterfly lands on a flower then flys away in a vast meadow with animated clouds slowly floating to the right of the screen and dust billows from a farm truck miles away)
