hi all,
i’ll keep this short. if anyone can help me it would be much appreciated. Yesterday i purchased a new laptop with the specs 40 gigabyte hard drive, 256 ram and 1.40ghz processor.
first off, when i check the capacity of my hard drive it seems to say it has 33 gigabytes as opposed to 40. could this be because the other 7 gigabytes are being taken up by the operating system? i am using windows xp, home edition.
also, right clicking on my computer and going to properties, my computer states that i have 226 ram. shouldnt it say 256? or is the other 30 being used for something else?
lastly, my previous pc has a 1.70 ghz processor, and i was cautious about buying a laptop with only 1.40 ghz. however the staff member on duty told me that because of the celeron moblie technology within laptops, a 1.40ghz on a laptop roughly equals a 1.70ghz processor on a pc. is this true??!
thanks in advance for any feedback. fulci.
