ACCESS database optimization PROBLEM?

I have 2 databases without data… only tables… and I take that database and make a new one, but putting the two in one… there are only like… 7 tables with numeric fields… why is the database more bigger?? is like 1 MB… and the other have only 200 Kb… Why is this? in the new database, every field have the right datatype… the other old databases was all stringtype… even is they have numbers… PD: in spanish my power of redaction is a lot better… writing in english I’m like a monkey… lol
