Hey all. I’m pretty new to ActionScript. I’ve been an illustrator for the last several years and I’m only now out of desperation biting the bullet and trying to become a coder. I think I’m over the main hump of the learning curve and the basics of programming are starting to make sense. One thing I’ve noticed after looking at some JavaScript is how similar they seem. I mean, I know there is different syntax and such, but I’m seeing a lot of things that I recognize, like variable declarations and if…then…else loops. It’s got me thinking that after I get through the book I’m currently reading, I might take a stab at JavaScript to see if I can add that to my repertoire. I’m wondering how many other people consider themselves multi-lingual, code wise, and what other scripting languages have you found to be quite similar to ActionScript?
