I have designed a logo for an online forum and I have published it flash 5. I use flash mx and I am therefore unaware of the correct syntax for adding a on(release) get url function that works in mx. Any help?
I have imported the logo into dreamweaver mx and i don’t think it is possible to add hyperlinks to flash movies in the same way as you can add them to images.

i think the syntax will be the same for your button whether it is published as a flash 5 file or mx…
to code the button

getURL(“yourpage.htm”, “_howyouwantitdisplayed”);
}[/AS]
if you are using frames, the “_howyouwantitdisplayed” will be the name of the frame you wish to target
i am unsure if you can edit the file in dreamweaver to become a link so would suggest going back to the logos native file and making the link there.
you could simply place an invisible button over the top of your logo by creating a new button + adding a hit state to it and then attaching your code to the button

if you type some text, then in the <b>character</b> box at the bottom there will be a spot for URL. this is probably for links in a block of text rather than a button.:sigh:
