Adding shopping cart for music - how much do I charge?

Hi all,

Received a project request from a client of mine, his email reads:

“Hi Daniel, I’d like them to hit on a button next to a song (the clips are already there), have a query that says something like…Do you want do add anything else to the cart?..then have Paypal or some other merchant account show up for them to pay (I’m assuming that I won’t get eaten alive by fees and that 99 cents through Paypal translates into 90 or so cents of return). Then give them the ability to download an mp3 of the song with some key immediately after paying. Eventually, I’ll have some other items for sale as well and I’ll want to add that into the mix. That sound possible?”

Obviously, I can find the resources to accomplish anything just not sure how much something like this would cost because I have not been exposed to it yet.

If you have any feedback that would really help me out. I always turn to you guys here at Kirupa because your feedback is invaluable.

What if I wanted to incorporate some of the elements but not all? Just a simple shopping cart.

This is for a musician. Low budget.

To me it doesn’t matter, because they will be making money off the site. I’m not sure how you can really do it with only some of those elements.

What I would do if I were you, I know my webserver comes with “agoura shopping cart”. Not sure if it’s free or not. Basically it’s a cgi program that has a shopping cart, credit card validation, etc. Also it’s cool because it has a CMS for it(easy to update items, etc).

Use something like that and make the quick cash, if the client has a small budget.

Not sure how much your geting payed for it, but this seems like an option.
