After Effects: swirl in 3D from tutorial

Near the bottom of the page where it says: **[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular][SIZE=2]“USING A 3-D CAMERA” [/SIZE][/FONT]**can anyone elaborate on how to use a 3D camera? I followed the tutorial but can’t get that part to work

You may have missed the part where you need to turn a particular layer into a 3d layer.

…and use cameras and lights. Oh, and 3D motion blur.
