AI copilots may be boosting confidence too much

okay so i keep wondering if copilot-style tools are making people feel more done than they actually are. they’re great when you already know the shape of the problem, but the confidence bump feels a little dangerous when you don’t.

has anyone else noticed that? i’ve seen myself trust a suggestion faster than i’d trust my own half-finished thought, which is… a weird place for your brain to be.

The “feel more done than you are” part is super real — the suggestion pops in looking polished and authoritative, so your brain treats it like it passed some invisible review.

I’ve caught myself shipping stuff faster just because it reads clean, then 20 minutes later I’m like “wait… do I even understand why this works?”
