Alienware steps their awesome machines up another notch

Actually you are right really. But when I fire mine up in the morning it just feels soooo good. lol. As far as building one, they have some proprietary stuff in there that they dont sell at your hobby, and coming from a business perspective their tech supprt is off the chart. They replace everything next day mail.

Its the reputation that ALienware has for its PC’s that makes it so wanted

You know, if that thing weren’t so dammed ugly, I would be all over it

I just dont like the bump on the top

I just can’t justify 5 G’s on a computer. I could build one that runs HL2 almost as well as that one for maybe 1500 bucks. It wouldn’t have all the super crazy bells and whistles (Liquid cooling = lame & mostly unneccessary), but it would run well, and just about as fast.

Liquid cooling is definitely not lame, but it is somewhat unnecessary for ‘regular’ users. But for those, like me, that likes to squeeze every penny, we overclock. Liquid cooling really exceeds any other cooling solutions.

Yea, I never got into overclocking. I really never saw even a minor significant speed increase by increasing a 2.0GHz to a 2.4GHz computer. I know it exists, but I fail to see it. I’ve also had a lot of friends who are hardcore overclockers burn out their chip in a year or less. I’m all about penny pinching for the long run.

Yeah A-Ware is not for the faint of heart. Very expensive but if something goes wrong you have a new part right there on the spot and they can send a dude to put it in. I think you either have to be heavy into games and or heavy into graphics to justify this. I have an older (wee 1year old) Alienware Area 51 slightly custom. And I love it. It plays games much better than my friends “killer” homemade system. But I have been bitten by the bug. Once you get one, you just look at pc’s different. Hard to explain.

DDD, do you feel superior over us weeklings? DO YOU? I would. :stuck_out_tongue:
