Animating dynamic text?

Hey there.
I was wondering if there is any way to animate text that has been aquired during runtime (ie. inputted in a text box, read from a file, etc.). I’ve seen this done in Flash 5, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it Flash MX…

So far, my best idea of having a dynamic text field inside a movie clip, and animating/putting effects on that clip has failed miserably.

Is there perhaps a way to change text of static text fields at runtime (but that would make the static fields contradictory wouldn’t it?).
Also, is there any way to anti-alias and animate dynamic text? I will be using large font sizes and I’m forced to use Times New Roman, so it looks HORRIBLE without a/a.

Thanks in advance.

Embed your fonts and check the tutorial on this site. It’s for Flash 5 but I’m fairly certain it will work exactly the same with MX.

Took me a while to find the right tutorial, but it turned out to be very helpful! Thanks again!
