Annoying WinZip/IE Problem

Hey everyone!
I have a quick question that has been annoying me for the past few days. Every download link for a ZIP file I click on, IE opens the download as opposed to asking me whether to save or open the file. I believe that is because I accidentally checked the box for “Do not ask for these types of files” or something similar to that.

Is there any way to revert back to the older setting where I am prompted to either open or save a ZIP file?

Thanks!
Kirupa :beam:

You can always do Reset Web Settings… if you’re willing to set everything back.

(found in the Programs tab in Internet Options…)

There are always alternative browsers. Mozilla for example saves ZIP files to disk before opening them. And, if it can’t find a webpage it tells you, unlike IE which keeps showing that stupid progress bar making you think the page is still loading.

Restoring the defaults will fix it.

Hmm - I did both Reset Web Settings and Restore to Defaults, and the problem still occurs. Oh well - it’s not too much of a biggie anyway. It is just a small nuisance :beam:

I just had this same problem. How about that.
