As I’ve become more involved with web design (both at dayjob and as freelance) I find I prefer fixed widths for all my layouts. I don’t know if this is a vestige of my roots in print design. I know that I become mildly annoyed with expanding columns on websites - I invariably resize my browser window to make the text more readable.
So, I’m just curious - should i be more open-minded about using fluid layouts? Are there instances when such a layout has benefits, or is more appropriate than fixed widths? I know I am but a web padawan, and I wait patiently to receive the wisdom of those more experienced than I. :yoda:
