Any familiar with the game platform tutorial?

I Liked it alot, but the collision detection method is basic and shoddy at best.

What does everyone else use generally (or for platform games I suppose, e.g. mario clones and such)?

I like the basic method where you can easily cram as many objects as you want into a single movie clip and let the same code handle the collisions but it’s not precise enough, is it possible to still do this with some more code to more precise collisions, or most likely single object collision checks?

P.S. Where do you guys get your music from? I got midi making software but flash doesn’t support MIDI yet (should have been there from the start I reckon :P).
